Default if its not the relay then what is wrong???

its a warrior, i thought the starter relay was bad. starts right up when bypassed, new starter relay off ebay and still nothing. the only other thing i can think of is the elec start button is crap. is there a way to check if its bad? theres another relay with a 4 prong plug next to the starter relay, what is it for and could this be the problem? im about to just carry my trusty wire with me so i can start the thing and ride. thanks for the help.

I had a Warrior that the starter button went out on. When you say "bypass" what do you mean? You can bypass it by jumping out the 2 larger terminals, or you can take 12Volt DC + from your battery and jump to the SMALLER terminal on the POSITIVE side of your starter relay. This will bypass the starter button and the plug and wiring to the button, but will prove the relay is good. The other small terminal on the relay has to go back to ground also.

so its probably the button...the relay is a brand new oem part, when the start button is pushed absolutely nothing happens. my brother has a raptor 350, are the plug connections for the starter button/switch assembly the same? if they are i will take his and see if the button truly is the problem. i would check now but they are out in the shed and 24 is on

I would think its just the start button. If not, there are a few other things that keep the start button from working. Does your neutral light work? If the neutral switch failed, the motor would think its in gear (even if it wasn't) and wouldn't start unless you pulled the clutch in. So also try the start button with the clutch pulled to see if thats the problem also.

why not get a test light or voltage meter and find out exactly what the problem is?

Yeah, what if its not the button, then you got a new relay and a new button and it still doesnt work. I would try to test as much as you could to prove what it is. Do the lights come on? Like rruser said, is it in neutral?
