New 2008 Timberwolf 500
The dream begins about this time of year, every year....
I pull up out of the nastiest 'skeg hole on the planet and release the diff-lock, chuckling to myself as I pop it into 2wd.
A quick stab at the throttle and the 500cc motor spins my 500lb machine into an effortless 180 on the fire road. Time
to winch the rest of the gang out of the slop. By the time I've wrestled the nearly submerged Polaris behemoth from
its muddy grave, the Bomber, King-Q and Kawi BF hav a big head start down the twisty descent back to camp. Skipping the ultra-
low, stump pulling, 1st gear, I snick the tranny into 2nd and wheelie away. At 55mph in 5th gear the washboard fire road
flows beneath me like smooth blacktop thanks to the IRS and lower A-arm mounted front suspension. I drift the lighter weight
machine around the corners, making up ground on the others. Just as I pull even with the Suzuki, the road emerges from the
trees onto a long flat section. In times past, this meant the end on my trusty old Big Bear, but not today! A flick of the
lever puts me into 6th GEAR, and with the EFI's smooth delivery, I quickly reel in the Brute and Outlander.
Back at camp, I admire the styling of the new Timberwolf 500. Looks a bit like a cross between the old wolverine and
Can-Am's new Renegade. I slap on the quick attach racks, load up a toolbox, and head back up the hill to rescue the
Polaris....
YAMAHA, please make my dream quad!

hey, i love my wolvey but i wouldnt mind having a 500cc timberwolf with all that junk... i really wouldnt mind if the new wolverine was exactly the same except a manual with the polaris 500 high output engine. that would be a sweet quad, fast as a scrammy with a shaft drive. i was gunna get a scrambler if it wasnt for the chain drive, its too big to pull with a chain.

I have considered getting a sport quad to satisfy my need for speed and jumping ability and keeping the Wolvy for muddy, crappy woods riding. Now I just need to convince the wife that the Wolvy would be "hers" if I get another quad while keeping the Wolvy.
