I'm looking for a quad that will just keep up with all my friends in the trails. Most of them have sports atv's. i have never owned a quad so would this be a good quad for a beginer just tryin to keep up in the trails or should i look at the raptor 350? i also like the fact that there is no clutch, but anyways what are the pros and cons of the wolverine 450?

Pro's... powerful, rides like a sport atv, 4x4.
Con's... not much of rear rack, rides like a sport atv.
I like mine but, I probably should have got a utility with a softer ride, 4x4 low and racks. But, I do enjoy riding it fast and powersliding the turns. I think a Wolverine will work better for you than the Raptor if you intend to use the 4x4.

What do your friends ride?
The wolverine will be a great quad, the raptor 350 might have a little more top end speed but not much at all
The 450 has great power down low, but you top out at about 52-56 mph. I think that a stock raptor 350 will go about 54-56.
Pros, react well to the tuning options out there, run very well, I actually like the auto trans.\
Cons, just now have a company selling front and rear racks for it, not a lot of hop up parts available yet, tops out at 52-56 mph.

Me and my wife just bought both bikes you are thinking about getting. The raptor 350 is a lot faster than the wolverine 450. I was topped out at 53 mph and my wife was pulling away from me in 5th gear and she still had sixth gear to go. the 4wd is nice to have for climbing but the rest of the time you wont need it. if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

If you are only on wide open high speed trails and don't need the 4x4 feature you are better off with a different sport quad instead of the Wolvie.
On the other hand if you have tight muddy hills most times while riding the Wolvie will lose most any regular sport quad the first time the going gets crappy.
