I just thought it was funny that you can imply it's relatively safe to do business in a manner that involves some risk, while you on the other hand got your money up front.
Don't blame you a bit. I trust no one....with my money that is

TPnTX: You're right, what I said appears hypocritical. I am just stating that people, in general, can be trusted. I was not willing to send the parts until I had the money first, true. But he was trusting enough of me to send his cash, knowing that I would send the parts.

Your point is well taken, thank you.

Well I have a better story than that for you of getting totally stuck in the back side. My dad needed a bottom end for his quad. So I searched the classifieds and gave him a few options of people to talk to. He talked with a fella from Tennessee named Richard seemed real legite, had been burned a few times himself he said. So my dad sends him half the money, and Richard COD's the rest. They talked for the better part of a week or so. He said no problem it's a good bottom end, good crank and trans everything is fine. Yeah right! Now this man has $500 of my dads hard earned money and a boat anchor. The crank bearing s were garbage. The clutch looked like it had imploded into enough pieces that the cases were barely salvageable. He was kind enough however to send us the shattered clutch basket, and a shift shaft that would make a good paper weight at work. My dad is the truest person in the sport I know. Willing to help anyone with anything, from digging through his bolts so they can ride to helping them rebuild their motor so they wouldn't have to go through a shop to do it. I'm just glad that I have family in Tennessee. I truly hope that if what comes around goes around, I hope this fool gets his and gets it good.

how do you ship something cod and not get your money? unless you don't specify a money order and thier check is bad, which is against the law. otherwise if it's a cod shipment and the buyer gets the product without paying it's the shiping companies responsiblity to pay you. if you shiped something to someone expecting for them to send you a check after they recive your product, your not very bright (sorry for the insult).i see it as more of a risk for the buyer who is buying sight unseen, the seller can misrepresent his product, get paid for it no matter whether pre-paid or cod asyoucan't inspect the part before you pay unless the box is damaged. then you can only settle with the shipping company for shipping damage. these are facts of shiping not my opinion.

Contact your local Police Dept. and file fraud charges!!!! This is an illegal act that should not be allow to continue! I would also contact AOl and let them know of the transaction and make them aware that he is using there service to commit frauds......
Good Luck!
Scott
P.S. Sorry to hear you got stuck, it really does hurt everyone in the long run!

You guys don't go to ebay much, do you? I think you'd learn real fast if you shopped on there regularly.
Rule number 1: NEVER EVER send the parts till after the check clears.
Rule number 2: ALWAYS make the buyer pay shipping. Why in the world would you pay shipping charges?? The catalogs(Rocky Mountain, Dennis Kirk, etc.) don't pay for shipping, why should you. Ya gotta have a sense of business with things like this. To protect you(the seller) and satisfy them(the customer). I hope I enlightened your day!
