hey guys I saw the new 2008 banshee of a ATV magasine in a store (I think it was dirtwheels) and its 500cc 4stroke twin cylinder (I think its outta the sleds) and it has plastics like a YFZ!! what the hell is with yamaha and making there new quads looking like yfz's and raptors its retarded. Other then that I think this thing will rip. Anyone else see it?

 

No offense, but ill believe it when I see it.

It wouldnt suprise me if yamaha is trying to counter the new outlaw 525 though.

 

I'll buy the mag. tommorow, scan it on my comp. and send it to you. I swear my friend said look at the new shee and i didnt understand because i thought it was a yfz on the cover but it was a shee I think its even fuel injected i dont know if they are only selling them in canada (like the 07's) but I'll buy the mag tommorow and write up the info.

 

But the question is.... is it really a Banshee if it's not a 2 stroke?

i think it is stupid that they are replacing the banshee with something 4 stroke and crazy...

They should give it a new name and let the banshee have its own name.

Its kinda like calling a 6v mustang a mustang and calling a v6 camaro a camaro. It is a slap in the face to the vehicle.

i saw in my June 06 issue in the over the bars section bout the banshee and blaster being reborn wiht 4 stroke engines from a snowmobile....the blaster would have the 500cc twin cylinder and maybe the blaster having that engine but cut in half

 

There was a rumor of this in dirtwheels sometime last year too. Basically the engine is a Phazer snowmobile engine, which is derived from the YZ250F engine. It's basically two YZ250F engines stuck together.
