Default NEW BANSHEE

the word BANSHEE literaly means "screamer"
4 stroke motors dont "scream"
i think the name BANSHEE deserves to be retired and never used for a quad again. all the banshee had going for it was the MOTOR and the love/hate UNIQUE look. if you take away both of those things, it is NOT a banshee...and i dont give a rats @$$ how many cylinders it has...

they should have called it the RAPTOR 500 TWIN......

I just read this article in Dirtwheels, and that prototype "Banshee" is not the actual bike. It is a rendering of what Dirtwheels has heard it looks like. I like it, something old, something new. Doesn't matter to me if they change the name or not. They are probably tired of making up new names by now. I just hope they dont do like all their other bikes and name it the Raptor 500. Yamaha, give us a break on the "Raptors" already!

if they do make it, i hope they do keep the banshee name. tired of raptors too...i dont think they should have renamed the warrior when they redone it into the raptor350....

i think it will scream. yamaha usually doesnt disappoint here and they always have a trick up their sleeve. now, from a purely business perspective - do they NEED it in their lineup?...prob not. between the YFZ and 700R i think the markets are pretty much covered with duning and track (the lattter - something the banshee wasnt extremely good at)... they do need an entry bike though with the blaster gone (maybe that one will return too).

as far as the mustang and camaro example do you know how many variations of engines, packages, editions, body styles of these have been going around for the last several decades? They changed them many times. some look/ perform beter than others/years. (yes i do know that the camaro was discontinued after 2002 but it will return in 2008/9) why not wait and see how the new banshee, if they make it, turns out?

2 things are far certain - it has to be a twin (wouldnt a 4cylinder screamer from a crotch rocket rule though?!), and it has to wail (and sound good) with dual exausts to fulfill the banshee law. if they can make another screamin machine and correct some of the problems the older one had, id consider another one
