brake help please

Default brake help please

So I swapped brake pads on my raptor, I thought I bled the brakes right, squeezed the brakes and it feels like i'm pulling in my clutch.. am i not bleeding them right? Please help thanks!!

When bleeding them did you squeez the brake lever 2 good times then hold it firmly and release the bleed valve do it 2-3 times if still a no go then do it 2-3 more time's be sure to add fluid to your rezzy!!!

oh ok , so you squeeze the brake, release the vavle then let go of the brake? thats what i was doing wrong then! and the same applies for the back?

Yeah. The most important thing is that you always have the bleeder valve closed before you release the lever, or it'll suck air right back onto the line.

DO NOT RELEASE YOUR BRAKE LEVER WHILE THE VALVE IS OPEN! this will suck air into your lines and you will have to start over. this is what you need to do, whle the valve is CLOSED pump the lever a few times and HOLD while you crack the valve. you will hear air spitting out of the bleeder valve. STILL HOLDING, close the valve. repeat until only fluid comes out of the valve, and like 2FAST4URASS said, monitor your resivoir and add fluid accordingly. i think its much easier to have help doing this, but a nice tight bungee works to hold the lever. or just reach with your free hand. good luck!

ok I just bled the brakes and it worked great...it does feel a little mushy but it just might be my imagination...thanks again for your help!

it wouldnt hurt to ride it for a little while and then repeat the bleeding process. it may help the mushiness.
