For whatever reason, the front brakes do not squeak. So I just put them in the back.

That will be interesting to "not hear".

Went for a longer ride this Saturday in mud, snow and water. Still no squeaks from the rear brake yet.

We leave for Moab tomorrow. After the weekend, I will let you know for sure if the carbon brake pads are the permanent solution.

I'm looking forward to Moab as well. I wouldn't think the Wolverine the right bike for that but ya just never know what the little beast can do til you try!

Good to know the new pads seem to work for you. None of us like that racket!

Well, we are back from our Moab trip and we had a lot of fun. The weather did not cooperate very well as it rained a lot and was kind of cold. But we went riding anyway and had a lot of fun in the mud. The scenery was awesome!

Just to let you all know, the brakes are still not squeaking. I must admit the rear brakes are probably the weakest part of the otherwise awesome 4-wheeler. But now they no longer squeak and I have ridden it enough to confidently say that the squeak is gone! I just hope the brakes last longer than a season!

Did you end up with the carbon pads or ebc ones?
Thanks

I tried the Tusk carbon pads. It would be interesting to see if the sintered pads would fix the problem also!

As long as these carbon pads wear well, I will keep using them. However, if they wear out quickly, I might try the sintered or the severe duty pads.

Sledboy700:

Thank you so much for the report on the pads. We truly appreciate it.

It's time for new rear brakes on my '06 Wolverine.
How are the Tusk Carbon brakes holding up?
Any squeals or squeaks yet?

Thanks

I really havn't had them on long enough to know how they are wearing, but it does not squeak at all and I have ridden it quite a bit since putting them on. I would say go for it. If they don't hold up, you could always try the sintered or heavy duty pads from Tusk or EBC.
