Default Warrior Questions

I have a 2001 warrior. so far i put the supertrapp exhaust and the k&n airfilter on it. im gonna rejet it cuz it is boggy and the guy at the yama dealer told me to try a 150 main jet. Does that sound right?? I also wanted to know if anione had any ideas of some other available bolt on parts that could help me squeeze some extra horses out of that 250 without doin anithing to drastic. Any answers would be appreciated.

Ive never heard of a supertrapp exhaust. You definitely need to rejet with any intake or exhaust mods. You could go with a cam, big bore kit, aftermarket valves, or mess with gearing (wont give you horses) And its a 350 not a 250.

a 150 is a good place to start thats what i was running before i removed the airbox lid. try it and do a plug chop to see if its correct.

supertrapp been around for quite awhile. they patented 'tunable' discs systems.

as for as just bolt ons for a warrior, replace that pos carb with a keihin or edlebrock (its on their website), replace the cam, uni air filter, and get it jetted right. if you dont like messing with that pipe then get another one. some mild porting should be fine as well.

you could go for a big bore 400 kit- i think alba sells the kit but be prepared to spend $$$ for that.

there's a 385 big bore kit somewhere on the web and rittercycle has a 430cc kit and several options for the warrior:

when i had mine i went up a tooth on the front sprocket...it sacrificed some of the low end but it did go faster as expected.

What's your budget, and what do you want to improve most? Power? Handling? Ride quality? Take a look at my mod list in the picture page (link to the left), that might give you some ideas. I have a lot of aftermarket stuff on my warrior, and there's still plenty more that I don't have yet.

Well my budget can go pretty high although I was just looking for some simple bolt ons for cheap. I have already done the exhaust, intake and soon to be done jetting. I was just wondering if there was anything else.

Are you running with the airbox lid on or off? You get a couple extra hp just from rejetting it with the lid off. Of course if you got one of the drop-in style k&n's you can't take the lid off completely because the lid holds the filter in place, but you can still open up the flow by trimming away the parts of the lid that aren't necessary.

Aside from that, i would say the next step for you would be either a high compression piston or a good cam (not hotcam) and some stiffer valve springs.
