I have an 87 warrior and i have a pinging noise in my engine it doesn't seem to be the valves but I haven't tried to adjust them. I'm also getting a smell like oil burning. Could yuo guys please help me out or lead me..

 

Did the pinging and the smell start at the same time? If not when did the pinging start? Im gonna guess and say they are not related. The burning oil is either worn piston rings, worn valve seals, or oil burning off the engine that is leaking out somewhere. Not sure on the pinging. Usually the valves make a ticking sound.
