Default kodiak 400 starting problem

I bought a 1999 kodiak 400 and the atv acts like the battery is dead when you start it with the electric start. The battery is brand new and has a full charge when you put it on the charger. The only way it will start is with the charger hooked up to the battery. it just started to do this recently. When I first bought the battery there was not a problem for the first couple of days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default kodiak 400 starting problem

First thing. Is there any aftermarket parts like heated handgrips that could be drawing the battery dead? Another thing to check is tight and clean battery connections. A weak connection could be causing the thing you are saying.
BTW..good to see a member that's not too far away!
