No that is not a good deal... infact it's a rip off! Alba sells ported cylinders for 450 with a matching milled head. You won't even need to hone them... just bolt them on with new pistons and your good to go. Sam Coe does the porting for Alba. I've looked at them myself but I'm unsure how good his port job is.

Thanks for the reply but I just spoke to Alba today and it is $470 to port MY cylinders $95 to mill MY head. Plus shipping Plus Plus Plus...You know typical Alba pricing! If I wanted new cylinders they quoted me an incredible $475 per jug and $470 for the porting and to me that equals $1420..Even EastCoastATV is selling cylinders for $320.00 Each and to me that equals $640.00 for the cylinders alone without being ported. Add in $470 for porting and your over a grand....Am I missing something or do you not have your facts correct?

Dunepilot doesn't have his numbers down right. The alba add mentions cylinders at the prices you mention, but it is an exchange basis, then you need to add pistons and gaskets etc...

The only question about the ebay jugs is... were they actually ported by alba, or were they backyard ported?

I wouldn't touch ported jugs from an unknown source with a ten foot pole. If you want to get another opinion, just call K and T Performance (801-825-5870) in UT. Kim will give you some numbers for what it is going to cost you to do the job right.

Last time I checked not a single company gives you pistons and gaskets after you have them port your cylinders. My numbers are what I was quoted when I walk into their shop. I now a couple of people there and yeah I do get a discount so maybe that was added into account. Sam Coe has a shop in El Cajon which I have been to but I never asked prices. I'm sure he'd do them cheaper than Alba. If you don't trust Sam Coe you could walk 30 feet across the parking lot into Duncan Racing and have them port your jugs for 550 with a head mod. It's up to you but when your talking about porting that's all it means. If you find a shop that gives you pistons and gaskets and the like let me know because I'll ship my cylinders right after you tell me how well they worked.
