Canadian Kodiak

Frano,
I bought a 2001 blue beauty in September from a dealer in Quebec. He was a real great guy to do business with. He gave me the vin # of the Kodiak and I registered it in NH. I brought the proof of reg to him and he didn't charge me any taxes. However, when you get to the border, it will cost you $195.00usd in duties, since it is made in japan. I got the Kodiak, plus these sweet front and rear bag setup(blue w/ Yamaha Kodiak Custom) and a 2000lb warn winch for $7800cnd. At the time the exchange rate was $1.49 to $1.00, therefore I paid $5234usd OTD. I don't know if the laws are the same now, But I will gladly give you his name and number. I hope this helped.
PS- it was only 3.5 hour ride up from southern NH

JC66,
Thanks for the great info. Yes, I would like the dealer info since I might just do something in the Spring. I have a Red 2000 Kodiak I bought in June 2000 box stock for $5446.00 OTD which I thought was a good deal. Your's sounds a lot better to me and the blue will match my '99 Yamaha SX 600 snowmobile. Also, you might be interested that I got into ATVing by renting a 300 Kawasaki Prairie in Ste Agathe, Canada in May 2000. That weekend got me hooked on ATVing but while I was there, a local Yamaha dealer went by us on the trail with about 20 new 2001 blue Kodiak's that he was renting to some European students on some college experience. When I decided to buy a Kodiak, I was surprised that I couldn't get a blue one in the US. Although mine's red, it's a super machine and has seen all that Western Mass. has to offer. Thanks again.
