I just got a new 07 Raptor SE on Friday, the weather was decent yesterday so I took it down a dirt road to test it out. It was fast but not as fast as I thought it was gonna be. I was wondering if there will be a big diffrence after the first 20 hrs. I had started it up several times over the weekend to let it run like the dealer told me. just kinda concerned over my new purchase not being as fast as I thought.

If this is your first big Raptor the speed can be deceptive. It's not a high revver like some other machines. Shift early and use the throttle (once you are broken in) for maximum acceleration. It makes a lot of power down low and shifting early will take advantage of that...

I imediatley got the PCIII the day it became ava and GYT-R filter & adapter and pulled the baffle out as there weren't much in the way of pipes avalabel at the time (aug 05) Man what a difference that made. It was night and day, then I got the LTE's and had a custom map made on the dyno and I had a total of 12.44 RWHP gain over stock which is a major gain and you can really feel it seat of the pants wise . As the other poster said these things are TQ monsters when uncorked and you need to short shift to make em move. I gurantee you will be pleasantly suprised if you do the 3 basic mods and then put a 15 tooth front sprocket on it

I've seen a big gain in performance after 20-30 hrs on one of these 700's. Patience......
