Default kodiak 450 drain plugs

Last week I changed the oil in my 06 kodiak 450, i took out the large drain plug on the bottom of the motor which contained a spring under pressure with some sort of screen. However the oil did drain but i realized then that wasnt the plug that took out the first oil change. What is that plug for? Did i hurt anything, taking it out? What is the torque for install? thanks

Nah you didn't hurt anything. I'm not sure what that spring is for but I did the same thing a while ago and put it all back together and it has run fine since. To change the oil I usually take out the allen head plug beside that big plug with the spring.

hehehe.. I did the same thing on my first oil change, I used the large plug with the screen. I read the manual AFTER I did it the wrong way.
