Default I can't find it!

I have a 2001 Yamaha big bear 400 purchased used. I want to change the oil filter but I cannot seem to locate. Does anyone out there know? help please I have the same problem with my Honda Recon 250. I just need to change before the summer gets here. I was able to locate new filters just can't figure out where on the machines to install them

Just to let you know, the filter is re-usable. just clean it well.

A Big Bear will run for years on the same oil if it takes you a while to locate the filter.

Thanks for the info! I do not see a link to it or the actual schematic you are referring to but when I'm done with work this evening I take another look at it I do remember locating the oil cooler and lines to it so I think based on what youre saying I should be able to find it right behind that. Also I had no Idea you could just clean it. About how many hours should you run between cleanings and/or oil changes or does that depend how hard you ride etc..

There's 3 bolt's holding on the cap you remove those 3 bolts to get to the filter and as for oil changes that all depends on you I change mine normaly every 10-20 hour's depending on the condition's dusty/muddy etc;..
