Raptor 350 or Honda 400ex
ok i am 14 about 6' and 195lbs and i am thinking about getting a new quad
i have ridin my freinds quads so im not that new to riding but i still am inexperienced since i have not owned a quad yet so i am looking for a nice quad thats pretty fast and easy to ride and maintain
i have been looking at both the 350 and 400ex for a long time now but i still want to know which one is easier to ride and maintain and which one is better performance wise but also keep in mind i am pretty big for my age and want a quad that can handle me and fit me good as well

Have to laugh at that full sized quad remark. It's funny how times change. I was in a similar situation when I was 14--way back in'96. The BIGGEST, FASTEST, FOUR STROKE sport quad that was available at that time WAS the Warrior 350!!!! Needless to say, that is what I bought. I still have it to this day. I was actually about the same size as you were but am now 6'8", 275#. Yes, the Warrior seems pretty small to me now.
If I were in your shoes, forced to choose between the two, I would get the 400ex. An even better option, in my opinion, and for the same price is the Z400. Just as reliable as the 400 and is a bit more modern.
Anyone suggesting the 660/700 Raptor and the 450's might want to consider that this 14 yo kid is probably on a budget and those "full" size machines probably don't fit that budget.
Regardless, I still have my Warrior, and I still have fun on it-albeit a bit undersized. Sometimes that makes it more interesting anyways. These new 450's make certain things too easy.

Are you guys that are suggesting the DS650/Raptor 660/700 insane??? This guy said that he has """ridin my freinds quads so im not that new to riding but i still am inexperienced since i have not owned a quad yet so i am looking for a nice quad thats pretty fast and easy to ride and maintain""" Your suggesting that he gets a 660 or 700?? Come on. Now I'm not wanting to sound like the fun police, but a 660 or 700 Raptor is NOT a beginner machine.
You were on the right track in thinking that a Warrior or 400 EX would be a good machine for you. There are plenty of aftermarket goodies available for the 400ex that you can bolt on once you get some more experience and you'll be just as satisfied.
