I have had a popping type noise for some time now. It sounds like plastic popping or buckeling. Seems to be in the left front area.I have had a headlight replaced at the dealer. When trying to find the noise while riding yesterday, I found that they had crossed threaded the screw on the bottom of the lens and it was sliding and rattleing. Removed both lights thinking I had found the noise but it still remains. Anyone else with this type of noise?

 

Maybe the rattling noise from the gas cap? Take it off and shake it.
This had me baffled for about 3 days until I figured out it was the cap

 

Thanks, just gave the cap a good shaking and it does rattle. What did you do to get rid of the noise?

 

Mine does it too. Supposedly all the Yamaha caps rattle. The only thing to do would be to buy an aftermarket one from somebody like Cascade.

 

dont worry about it ur only riding a yamaha what dou expect it not to make wierd noises

Thanks to RoyBoy, I finally figured out what the noise was. When I heard it again, I looked behind me and the noise was coming from the guy behind me banging on his Honda, trying to catch up.

 

will the cascade gas cap from a banshee work on a raptor? will the throttle cover work? I could use some billet on my raptor!

 

Can you tell me how to find Cascade gas caps? Thanks
