Chain and skid plate?????

Default Chain and skid plate?????

i just bought a new chain the other day because my old one had worn down from rubbing on my skidplate and now my skid plate its getting chain groves in it but if i move my axle back and further my chain will have no play in it and ive been told the can ruin my sprockets and gears so im at a loss as to what to do

well either your chain is too loose or your skid plate is bent....if your chain is to loose tighten it so it has about 1 1/2- 2 inches of play up and down and if your skid plate is bent just bend it back or replace it but have no play in your chain will ruin more of ur chain a lot quicker

my chain has about an 1 and a half of play and my skid plate is not bent its on my 660 i even put some spacers between the skid plate and swing arm when i bolted it on but stil hits

yea no cracks in the swingarm axel is straight and i cant think of anything else

Explain this again. I really don't see anything wrong with what you're saying. If you have an inch and a half of slack, what is it that you're worried about?

I' m pretty sure he doesn't want his chain to hit and rub on his skid plate otherwise he wouldn't have posted this thread....

What kind of skid plate is it??? Is there a "wear" strip on it?

If you are positive that nothing is out of whack, then the skid plate shouldn't rub. Do you have the chain guide installed? (assuming it has one?)

Sounds like you have the right amount of slack in the chain.

not sure what kind of skid plate and i dont have a chain guide near the sproket im not sure y its rubbing i am ralley at a loss here
