I don't know about the Yamahas, but their prices on Hondas are almost the same as Southern Honda in Chatanooga where I bought my Rancher last year...the saleman there told me that they sell for dealer cost and make their money on the holdback from Honda, which usually runs @ $300 per unit. They make up for it in volume...whereas my local dealers try to get MSRP + tax + freight + doc fees + etc.
