This Past weekend i went rydin with some friends.I drove off on some ice and when i came back onto the shore the ice broke! It wasnt that deep but it covered the rear drive case. The next day i went out and the rear wheels were locked up.I broke them free while in first gear but it took a little bit to free them. They Froze up the following day.Does anyone have an Idea of where the rear end is freezing up?

Brakes, especially if you have drum brakes.

Hey, your lucky. It wasnt that deep. i fell through some ice and it was about 6 ft deep. My blaster half way floated. My rear wheels didnt freeze up though. It could just be freezing up because water could be in or on the axle and feezing.

I've been riding 3 wheelers most of my life and this used to happen to me and others all the time.. We would go out on the rivers and when the tide would be high, you would have to cross through some water when getting onto the ice. In Jan. and Feb. months when its like a deep freezer sitting in the shed, the next day, the rear tires would be frozen solid. Either we would put it in gear and snap loose. Sometimes this wouldn't work and we would poor boiling water over the brakes. Sounds like your adding to the problem but it always worked. We did this for years and never ran into any problems. Those were the good old days, now I ride my Wolv. and all my buddies are riding 4 wheelers too. I'll always remember the good times we had on the old 3 wheelers though..
