01 warrior won't start
#1
We have a 01 350 warrior and it will not start. The shop said put a new status and pick up coil on it, we did, it still wouldn't start. So they said the cdi box is bad so we replaced it, still won't start. we replace the spark plug boot and the cylinoid and still no start. It just cranks and you have to cross it over to start it the switch won't work any more for some reason. Also there is no fire you can hold the plug in your hand and nothing while it cranks. PLEASE DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS BEFORE WE PUT ONE MORE DOLLAR IN THIS FOUR WHEELER???? Someone else told my husband the timing chain could be broke, but I don't see how we rode it all day, parked it and put bearings in the rear end that night and the next day it started and died and it has never started again. I would appreciate any help.

A broken timing chain would have no affect on whether you have spark or not though. It sounds like an electrical problem to me. Make sure all your connections are clean and tight. Use some di-electric grease on them. Seems as though you've replaced the major parts. Start simple and go from there. I highly doubt that all the parts you replaced were bad, your dealer made a killing off you though. If you don't have a manual-get one. It will tell you how to test each individual electrical part (providing you have a meter).
Also, if you feel you need to check the timing chain, just pull the two bolts off the cam sprocket cover on the upper left side of the cylinder head and you will be able to see the timing chain. The cover has an o-ring gasket, so you can just put it right back on w/o buying a gasket for it.

Sounds like you need to find a new shop! Are you mechanically inclined or know someone who is that could check some things? The ignition coil could be bad.(Its attached to the other end of the spark plug wire) Im not saying replace it, but you need to go through the test procedures before you replace anything else. I agree with 54 - get a manual.
