You could get a left over 2000 Scrambler 2X4 for around $4500.

Quadfather is right! 2x4 400 Scrambler around 4500.00. It will beat any other machine you can get in that price range.

I'm with 300exSTER. Thes machines are do durable, that you can find one a few years old and be just fine. You can usually see signs of it been abused. I like Honda and Yamaha, they've both proven to be reliable brands for me. (Not saying that the others aren't, so no arguments!)

I paid $4900 for a used 99 Banshee that had only 4-5 hours on it.

For 5k you can buy fastest (for 5k) and most versitile quad made, the scrambler 400 2x4.
This quad has everything your looking for in a quad for 5 grand.
Being able to beat most quads in its class (including the 400ex) is also incentive to go out and buy one.

Thats funny how you can be amuzed by something thats true.
In a drag on pavement for 500yrds stock to stock the scrambler 400 can pull by the 400ex by 1 length.

And for and extra 1500 dollars into a Scrambler 400,4x2, you can beat some banshees! Just check with AAEN performance, thay can build a mean 440 Scrambler that is ported, big bore, and kicks butt. The roller clutch is nice too, can you say instant wheelie on an automatic? My buddy can now!
