blaster control unit help
#1
i bought a used blaster for my son. it runs great but i noticed a plug un connected. i looked the color of the wires up in the clymer manual and it turns out to be the control unit. when i plug the female plug to the male plug it stalls the motor. why does it do that? whats the control unit for?
also i want to run the oil injector plug off kit. do you have to split the cases to do this?
thanks

Where are the wires located? I had an old blaster that had the key removed and there were 2 wires a male and female just loose and if you plugged them in it wouldnt run, it was for the key, if its in the front it could be that if the key is removed.

Yes you have to split the cases. Go to Trenga racings web site. They have a play by play breakdown on how to do it. They also sell the kit for thirty bucks. Not much to it but the instructions alone are worth it. I bought it, Installed it and it works great.

the wires are in the front. i did the key ones and hooked those up awile ago. i noticed the key was not working.
the colors of the wires that are the problem now are ((black)) ((black yellow)) ((black white)) they all go to one plug in the front under the shroud. i want to make sure the bike is running right. it seems to be. so if any of you guys can help me out here
i figured the colors for the control unit.

Ok, this shouldnt be this hard to figure out... there isnt crap for electrics on blasters, Sooooo... it could only be something stupid if its still running right... its not the coil, and its not the cdi, otherwise it wouldnt be running right.. ok, just had a brainfart and looked it up in the banshee manual, the control unit is the TORS! ahh, junk ya dont need it! just cap the wires off and you should be all set, somebody must have taken the TORS off, or it could just be unplugged if they are still on, look for the wires coming out of the top of the carb.
I do believe you can just take the oil pump cover off, take the oil pump itself apart and remove the plastic gear, make sure to plug off where it goes into the carb or youll end up sucking air/dirt... I dunno.. If I were you Id just leave it, if its working fine then why take it apart? "if it aint broken dont fix it"
