Hi Guys,

I have had charging problems for some time on my `02 Griz. A fully charged battery lasts only short time. Today I disconnected the negative lead while the machine was running, and it died right away. So, likely I need a new stator.

Any recommendations for a more powerful than stock unit?

I don't have a manual to consult. How about a bit of help?
Maybe my diagnosis was faulty? Shouldn't the motor keep running with the
battery disconnected if the stator was okay? Is there a fuse to pull instead?

Hate to blow $200+ on a part I can't return.
Can the stator be restored by removing any glaze on the magnets or the housing?

Is the factory assy the best one?
