My kit from CT Racing. They dynoed my kit for a 1000 ft elevation. Only came with the jets I needed, the 180,and 185 mains. Runs great.
The jetting is easy to do. A very good source book on mikuni's can be had from Sudco. Covers tuning, etc.

rwalker,
Let me know how the Pro Design works for you. We are at about the same altitude. I'd like to know what jetting works best for you.
I haven't made any mods to my Raptor yet, but I played with the jetting. At 4000 ft I found that the stock jets were a little rich. I changed from a 140/145 to a 135/140 setup. It seems to pull more revs. I'm heading to jerecho tomorrow to test on the sand where I base-lined before. It's hard to tell in the snow where my results are subjective.
Do you ride at St. Anthony Sand Dunes? Can a stock Raptor climb Chokecherry hill?

Let me know on Jerecho. Is there snow or is it sunny and warm? We ride about 3 times a week at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes during the summer. My stock Raptor with paddles climbed Chokecherry with no problem. It was even easier on the shutes on the sides of Chokecherry where it is even steeper but not as chewed up! I did find that I needed to lean forward to keep it from wheeling back.

Hey

Desert Raptor, Are you running an airbox with the lid off or just an open filter?

I put an open K&N filter and I am at about 177.5 and 172.5 mains. I am still in the proces of doing the jetting. I can't find a local source for jets over 160 and Sudco is closed for the holidays.

I am planning on doing a "splash guard" instead of an airbox so that I can ride through shallow streams, basically minimal water.

I am running the airbox with no lid on it.

Will Dynojet sell you a jet kit for the Pro Design Filter?

If not, I think your Dynojet kit will be useless since it is tuned for the stock airbox.

I finished installing the filter. I also have six one inch holes in the air box lid with inserts that I purchased from Rocky Mountain. We have over a foot of snow so I can't give it a real test. It cuts out a little with the choke off. It actually runs better with the choke half on. I pulled the plug and the tip looks white so I need to change the jetting. Does anyone have any ideas on what size I should start with?

rwalker - there was a little snow on the north-facing slopes, but not much. I got into trouble on one patch where I did one climb, then near the top flip a u-turn and come back down to the side where another run had been made. I just kept sliding down and I could get it hook up. I was picking up speed as I slid past the other run and came down through some brush. It almost threw me, but managed to ride it out with no problem. Other than that, the snow wasn't even a factor.
The sun was out, and that was great because Salt Lake is under an inversion and all we have is fog.
