Default Valve adjusting

Does anybody have any tips, tricks, or suggestions on adjusting valves on a Warrior/350 raptor? Is it hard? I'm pretty mechanically inclined. I've turned a few wrenches. Should I go with the specs under the seat or would something else give more power or run better?

I would set it to spec's. Take the plug out and set the timing mark for top dead center on the compression stroke then adjust your valves. You can move the piston with the pull cord or put it in gear and get the wheels off the ground and rotate the wheels.

It's on a raptor 350 so I'll have to turn the wheels. Thanks for that because I really didn't even know where to start. I'm doing this for a friend so I might have him buy a clymer manual for it and just follow their instructions. thanks again.
