A few months ago I bought a 95 Kodiak with 2500 miles on it. The dealer claimed they serviced it but I really don't think so. Anyway today I changed the oil and filter. On the filter there was a mass of metal particles in one spot. I know a small amount is acceptable but it got me thinking. Maybe the filter has not been changed in forever and it just built up over time. Otherwise the machine runs perfect and the motor sounds fine. I like it alot more than my old 300EX!

A new motor will have a little metal in it on the first oil change but if your motor runs fine there probaly isn't any damage. Maybe this is the first oil change and if that is the case it should have a complete service.....such as..oil,valve adjustment, clean air filter, etc.
