I personally never liked FMF. I heard they aren't that great on two strokes, but I really don't know about how they do on 4 strokes.

In my opinion, HMF is one of the top brands. It offers a lot of bang for the buck. It is known to add HP and they sound great! The HMF sounds better on a Warrior than any other pipe on the market. Curtis Sparks is my first choice, but they no longer make pipes for Warriors. As for the jetting issue, I would plan on jetting it if you replace the pipe. You don't know what the owner before you did, and you don't want to take the chance of running the wrong jet, because you could blow your engine up. You can look at your spark plug and if it's white on the part that is down in the cylinder, your jetting is too lean and could do damage. If I were you I would go ahead and replace the air filter with a good one like K&N while you are doing all of this so you only have to re-jet it one time. Because a better air filter and an airbox with holes will change your jetting a lot.

O yea and were you topped out at the 1/8 or were you still climbing? What do you think your 446 tops out at? i was looking at getting a 446 kit also but who knows. When you head out to the track let me know what you run.</end quote></div>
Oh yeah, one other thing...the head work I had done helped more than the 446 kit. That is-cam, valves, and the port/polish. It will rev really quick and keep the RPM's up going thru the gears. The 446 just added gobs of torque, which does help get that beast moving, but the head work made it a lot funner to ride. If I could do it over again, I would go back with the head setup I have with the 366 JE piston.

Wow Warptor your pretty down on your 446, I happen to love mine. I'm gonna go and get my quad dynoed to see what the 446 is really putting out, but I happen to like it lot. As for the 366 that was a good motor too, Mickey Dunlap of four stroke tech said about 28HP for the 366 kit, and about 42HP for a 446 kit with stock carb. So think about it for a minute, Warrior 446cc 42 HP and done reving by 7,000RPM and 400lbs, YFZ450 449cc 40HP and revs to about 13,000RPM and 350lbs, I'd say it's a good bet your gonna lose too. And just a pipe filter and jet kit gets you close 50HP on a YFZ.

Well, I like the 446, except for every time I ride I have to replace the freakin head gasket. I'm gonna try to double up on the base gasket this time to relieve some of that compression. I didn't have to go through all this crap with the 366, and I was about $1500 richer, and I'm still getting my butt wooped by the stock 450's, so that's why I'm down on the 446. I would'nt recommend it to anyone that had a perfectly good running motor.

Well Mickey never gauenteed me I would beat any 450 quads in a drag race, but he did say I will hang with them, and I will have a way better woods machine then any 450 will dream of, lets face it those quads have no low end torque. My 446 has so much torque off idle and thats what I love about it, plus it's pretty nice in the dunes too. As for your head gasket problem? What head gasket are you using?? Hears a little tip, somtimes when the stock head bolts are torqued to many times then stretch giving false torque readings. I just bought a new set of stock Yamaha head bolts, I've never had a problem. Also the Edlebrock Carb is an awsome upgrade to the stocker.
