Well Mickey never gauenteed me I would beat any 450 quads in a drag race, but he did say I will hang with them, and I will have a way better woods machine then any 450 will dream of, lets face it those quads have no low end torque. My 446 has so much torque off idle and thats what I love about it, plus it's pretty nice in the dunes too. As for your head gasket problem? What head gasket are you using?? Hears a little tip, somtimes when the stock head bolts are torqued to many times then stretch giving false torque readings. I just bought a new set of stock Yamaha head bolts, I've never had a problem. Also the Edlebrock Carb is an awsome upgrade to the stocker.</end quote></div>
Well, I never expected to beat a 450, but I have all this money tied up in my Warrior and I could have just bought a 660. But anyway, I first used the head gasket that came with the 446 kit. Then I tried an all-metal gasket and that one blew. Mickey told me I didn't put the head on right or torqued the bolts wrong. But I did everything just like he said do and this ain't my first rodeo with a Warrior engine and I've never had this problem before. My local guy said it has too much compression and to double up the base gasket. I'll try some new bolts, too. Thanks for the tip.

I had this problem once before, and I found out the when I put the head on the left side cam chain slide was wedging under the head, just enough that you can't see it and then bolt it down but it's not really sealing right because thats kinda holding it up a bit. Just make sure that thing is in the notch in the head where it belongs. If you still have trouble, chances are the head is slightly warped, or the bolts are stretched causing improper torque readings. Trust me mine has been fine in the 95°F heat and all.

The chain slide IS in the notch. The first time the gasket blew, it blew out of the right side. Then I replaced it and it blew out the front. I can still ride it, because the only time it leaks is when I gas it real hard. I'm not gonna ride it until I get it fixed cause I no it could blow it up. The cylinder was re-decked a few thousandths, but the head was left alone. I thought this could be a problem, too, but my machine guy said its probably not the case. When I take it apart, I'm gonna take the head to him to have it checked out just in case.
