OK, two questions.

1. I was riding in a snow storm today and when I first started the Raptor up it didn't want to idle like it usually does, even with the choke on, it would idle for a few seconds then stall. I played with the choke but it wouldn't idle no matter where the choke was. I rode for a few mins and when I stopped, it sputtered and then stalled. I didn't touch the idle screw and just kept on riding cause it was fine once i got going. Eventually I came to a stop and it was fine. I turned it off, then back on and it idled fine. I rode for a while longer and still no problem. Then when I got back to my house it did the same thing and sputtered and stalled when idleing. Could this have something to do with the fact that I was riding in the middle of a storm that dropped 18 inches on us and somethin got wet maybe???

2. On the same Raptor the Blue plastic piece that has the ignition and the neutral and reverse lights on it came loose. I got back from the same ride and noticed that it was not connected anymore and was jut hanging loose with all the wires attached. I never payed attention before to how it was attached so I dont see how to reattach it. I looked underneath and the thing baffles me as to how it would get attached. I just zip tied it for now, but it pisses me off that its not right even though everything still works fine. I noticed that the piece always had play to it even when I got it it seemed kinda flimsy, but it always went back to the right position. Anyone have any ideas?

The no idle problem sounds like trash in one of the carbs(lean when you gas it, it will stumble and die). If something got wet they usually won't rev. Thats my two cents, probably what it worth. I also noticed how flimsy the ignition pad was attached when I bought mine. It's held on by two little rubber clips with two slots in them. There are flat "barbs" on the ignition pad and the handlebars that slide into the rubber clips. I can see how some hard riding would cause these to loosen and fall off. Your wire ties are probably better anyway.

My choke cable and the plunger in the carb filled up with dirt and water and then it froze up. It would run fine when warmed up and bad when frozen.I had to take it off and clean and dry it out, now its fine.

Of course you can check the parking brake lever. If it's stuck in it can cause it to sputter and run bad. I would just take it off anyways. It's way too big and it's not too expensive to buy a new clutch lever and perch.

I have lost the rubber pads for the ignition dash also. Yamaha would not cover them under warranty. Had to order them. They were only $1.28 each but stinks that they would not replace them. I have also had the front radiator panel pop out. Luckily the tabs did not break off and could be put back on.
