1998 warrior starting problem
#1
Warrior was running perfect. Went out couple days ago and she would not start. Acted like the battery was dead. Charged battery and still it did not sound as if it was turning over properly. Had battey checked and they stated that it was fine. pulled spark plug out and she turned over really good. Put spark plug back in and it did not want to start. It sounded like the starter might be going bad. Just recieved my new starter and quess what. same problem. We tried to jump it off striaght from starter to truck battery and it still sounds like a bad starter. If we pull it behind the truck and pop the clutch she will start and run perfect. What could be wrong with the electric start. Thanks.Jim

It seems as if everything is working properly. Everyone is telling me that it has a dead short some where. I have checked all the wiring and everything seems fine to me. Again it will crank just fine with out the sparkplug being in it, but just as soon as you start to put pressure in the cyclender head it"the starter" sounds as if it is not turning fast enought to crank it up.

My 88 Honda 300 was doing about the same thing, but it worked sometimes. So I took a wrench and tapped the starter, and after you do that it will work fine for 10 or so starts. Then it won't work.

I had the same problem, and it turned out to be a weak battery even though I charged it an all, it just isn't putting out the cranking amps. Thats the way my 446 cranks, it seems like it dosen't want to crank over and I talked to Mickey about it and he said I need a Kodiak 400 battery which has more cranking amps.
