Default Sprockets / Oil

I know theres a lot of equations and factors to this, but I really don't remember them. I've been out of the ATV tuning scene for a while.

I have a warrior, and I'm looking for a sprocket meant for more mid-range and top end? Would I go with smaller front, larger rear? Or what?

Also, one other question. I'm pretty sure it's 10w-40 oil, but how many quarts does it take?

if you want a faster topend, either a larger front sprocket OR a smaller rear sprocket will help you there, i use 3 quarts of oil. i think the clutch cover says 2500cc on it.

2.8 quarts is the best for it.. 2500 is without a filter change i do beleive( not 100% sure though)

don't go too large of sprocket, you'll just bog the quad down when you go up hills and such.. also.. you won't get better mid-range and top end.. either one or the other.. i say that because like right in between low and mid is the best for climbing hills and when u run a big sprocket you have to use a lower gear

ok u know what.. the gain you will see is fairly minimal.. 2-3mph per front tooth you go up.. is it worth it to you?

Yes, and no. I ride with a lot of 400's, 450's, etc. And we do a lot of road riding, so a larger top end would be much better. If say I went up 2 front teeth, I'd gain somewhere around 6mph top end? How much bottom and mid would I lose?

you'd notice a difference in takeoffs( clutch stress ) and 3rd gear hill climbing.. 4th gear is out of the question

Now, being that if I was feeling clutch stress, would that also mean It'd lead to clutch replacements?

it may.. there would definitely be more stress against the clutch at startups along with hillclimbs and such.. clutches are cheap though.,. $35 or so for a full set with springs
