Hello from Rainy London United Kingdom!

I have just bought a 2003 Kodiak 450 Second Hand
The Last owner said the Engine was Smoking and there was a Knock?
I replaced the Piston Rings and whilst in there i checked the big and small ends which were nice and tight!
I noticed that when i took the Head off there was a very large Gap on the Tappets
So i guessed that could be the Knock?
So when i Re-Assembled the Engine I re-Set the Tappets to their Correct Gaps!
Then i went to start and it did so first turn of the Key (with no Smoke) Excellent !!!one problem Cured!
But it still has a knock (And this is what Baffles Me
Has anyone got any ideas as to this Knock?
It aslo Knocks on Tickover which to me is well Strange?
Has the Kodiak got any Issues with the Over head Cam?

Mine used to have a good knock, when the clutch weights went dry,but it would only do it with the gas on(wouldnt do it at idle). It wouldnt hurt to clean out and relube the primary clutch weights.
