I've just put 25" tires on my Wolverine, and I'm a little worried that it's going to have a little less snap. The problem is the price of mod's in Canadian dollars. I've priced a K&N filter and jet kit, and it just seems way overpriced ($180) for a filter, a couple of main jets and a needle jet. I'd really like to hear from people who have installed them on their bikes.
I was also looking at pipes; same story. The most reasonable price I could find was $379 for a SuperTrapp, which still seems a bit much, though again, it might be worth it if I knew for sure it would make a big difference.
The one other mod I've been considering is a Wisco high compression piston. $130 for the kit, and another few bucks for the gaskets. Has anyone tried this?

Thanks for the reply Harold,
What is the difference I wonder between a Dynojet kit and the Unifilter and a K&N kit. Does the Dynojet kit come with an assortment of mains plus the needle? Does anything need to be drilled?
You said you added a snorkel so I guess you couldn't have opened up the airbox. I've heard that just cutting holes in the top will make a big power difference.
Do you have any examples of situations where the mods made a difference other than the feel?
Thanks again.

A Dynojet kit comes with an assortment of main jets and a needle. Yes you have to drill out one of the holes in the side, a drill bit is included with the kit. A k&n power kit includes a jet kit made by dynojet,k&n air filter, filter cleaner and oil. I noticed a slight diff. in low end power and a moderate diff. in mid through highend power, when you ride its like being able to stay in a higher gear than when stock. The jet kit made my atv start and idle MUCH better than stock, not nearly as cold natured as stock., as soon as you touch the button its running!!!!

Thanks again for the reply.
Do you have the stock size tires on?
Do you think the jet kit will only work with the pipe, or will it improve things on its own?

I have a Team Alba out in California, and it came with all the bolt on mods. and 25" tires. I have had 2 Wolfs 98' stock with 25" tires, and this 00' Team Alba. The 00' runs like and stock bike with stock tires, it is hard to keep the carb. adjusted. Ever since I got it has either ran rich or lean, never been able to find the sweet spot.

I have 25" mudrunners and I did the pipe and jetkit at the same time. I installed a jet kit on my stock timberwolf and it made a very noticable differance.
