Let's see you were playing in a mud hole and the engine died and won't restart , no light's on dash and it's blowing ignition fuse's ? Was it just mud or was there water and mud in the hole you were playing in ; it's a short in the wiring somewhere causing the fuse to blow ! You will need to give the quad a good cleaning to start with , then let everything dry up before you start doing any trouble shooting ; but my bet is that you'll need to go over all the electrical system ! All the electrical connection's for mud and or water has gotten into a connector and is causing the short , so you'll have to start going over them one by one unplugging them ; cleaning out any mud from the connection's and after cleaning and drying them out use some Di -Electric Grease to fix the short ! I would start off from the battery cable's first then move on to tracing the wire's to each connection one at a time , this is where you need a good Service and Repair Shop manual ; there are site's that have the schematic's for the electrical system wiring diagram's www.bikebandit.com is one ! There are other site's with more detailed view's , but a shop manual would be my choice to begain with ; how ever maybe someone will jump in here that has had the same thing happen that you are having now ! I'm no expert whem it come's to the wiring on these quad's , but it has to be in the electrical circuit ; and i don't have that much experiense with Yamaha's only Honda,Suzuki and AC brand's ! This is just general info , so someone else jump in and give us a hand to help us with this problem ; and good luck gruntski on the fix and let me know how it goes i get emails when someone anser's a post i just wish i could be of more help ! ...................

It could also be problems with the wires. Check for problems with the insulation. It could be cracked or chafed allowing the wire to ground out.
