Default 03 raptor 660.. i think clutch? need help

my buddy just got a 03 raptor 660 and we think its the clutch but we want to know what you have to say. the raptor when you are driving and then hit the gas what happens is the engine revs up but then it slowly engages and starts to take off.... so if you pin it in 2nd gear the engine will rev up like you are hauling *** then it will slowly catch in and go. so we think its a new clutch kit that we need? what do yall think? thank you homies

Did you try adjusting the clutch? There is an adjustment at the clutch lever, and another at the engine case (other end of cable the clutch cable). As the clutch wears, it needs to be adjusted.

Try adjusting the clutch but also change the oil. If the prior owner used the wrong oil the clutch could slip. Us an oil that does not have"energy conserving II" on the API label.

Those all could work, but when i got mine i had a similiar problem...at the engine case, the rod going down through the case could not be set right flat against the clutch! therefor causing it to turn an slip, then engage! hope i was some help! try this after you've tried all the rest!
