Help with my Buzzing Raptor.. won't start!!
#41
If it's still buzzing, with a new starter, it's just about GOT to be the battery or the battery's connections or the ground connection at the engine. That's it (unless the relay is just about to die.... not lilkey but possible, i guess)
When you jump across the relay terminals, there may be enough voltage available (and the associated current required) to crank the starter. When you try to use the relay (by pushing the start button), the voltage drops to a level that won't hold the relay open (even tho it's enough to turn the starter)... This is CLASSIC dying or poorly charged battery.
Battery first!

The thing is.. I tried a jumper across the relay terminals.. it still doesnt' crank over.. at all. It did before... (months ago when I tried it or tried cranking it) doesn't do it now. I will try that spare DS battery I have tomorrow see what that may yield (again).

Just tried it... after the battery is on a full charge.. just get a click sound.. and even the neutral light dims when I hit the starter.

I have seen motorcyle batteries at the local chain auto parts stores... you might be able to find the right size, and it's gotta be a lot better than the dealer, but check them too, you never know...
