02 Raptor.... help?
#1
jetted, piped, k/n, no motor work done. I am running sandstar 22x11x10, but the bikes likes to stand up way to much out of tree shots. Anyone recommend a good tire size and brand to get more spin and less hook up?
Also, my starter sometimes sounds like it is beating the crap out of my bike when trying to start??? New starter???
Thanks Boys!

Maybe try more air pressure. I have sandstars for my 400 and I'm usually trying to get more hook up by dropping the pressures. You definitely don't want straight paddles because that'll make your problem worse. I know a lot of drag racers start in 2nd gear but my 400 is too wimpy for that.
I know a guy with a 2nd year Raptor (02?). He's replaced his starter twice and still has problems. It doesn't engage properly sometimes and you have to rock the bike back and forth while hitting the button to get it to catch and turn the motor over. I'm not sure if the problem is with the wrench operator or that the design sucks.

Yeah, I figured the air pressure would be a good start. I can't get off the line in second gear. I added a tooth to my front sproket and that helped a ton, now I have a much better power through my gears. My rear sproket is shot and I need to replace it. I didn't know how much more to add to the rear sproket to get what I want without screwing up my gear ratio. My started works, but it sometimes sounds like a hammer inside. I guess if that is all my true issues... I will take em.
