if you get no differance between having the p brake set and not set the switch is stuck...you can pull it out ..its the top switch not the bottom

the switch doesn't engage the parking brake unless YOU manually engage it, however the assembly on the caliper can get out of adjustment, loose, or worn and can the quad will THINK it's engaged when really it isn't

the switch gets stuck because dirt gets in it a doesn't let the contact pin move back out....

The problem is the parking brake switch not making good contact with the parking brake mechanism due to a sloppy cable even when adjusted all the way out.I was thinking of replacing the spring on the rear caliper with a stronger one but i dont know.The parking brake seems to do nothing to hold the wheels even when manually moved on the caliper.If i dont mess with it should be okay but i would rather fix it and have the brake working than remove it.Thanks for the help.

I meant the cable , not caliper, by the rear brake.The footbrake works good though.

to adjust the p brake all you do is loosen the locknut..tighten the bolt till it's snug and back it up 1/2 a turn..then lock it with the locknut again...

this is the part that is missing in the above pic
