Default 2008 kodiak problem

I've just become a member to this site for two reasons. Firstly; I'm new to the ATV sport and secondly; I'm looking for feedback on the 2008 Yamaha Kodiak 450. I've just put 10 hours on this new Kodiak and have encountered a significant problem with leaks from the rear output shafts of the differential. The machine has just been returned to the dealer for repair, much to their surprise and to the surprise of Yamaha Canada. Oh ya, brand new design on the rear differential. Deer season soon with no ATV!

Two questions if anyone can help
1. Does anyone have the same problems?
2. What is the typical recall period from Yamaha for redesign?

Default 2008 kodiak problem

My wife's 05 kodiak sprung a leak where the drive shaft to the wheel connects to the diff. All I had to do was replace the oil seal. I would hope and expect that once the seals are replaced the problem will be solved. I kind of wonder if there is a problem with some of the seals or with how the shafts are installed at the factory.
