Default 08' Grizzly, have they fixed their problems?

Just wondering if anyone has determined whether Yamaha has fixed the issues seen with the 2007's (Cold start issues and boiling gas)
with the 2008's or for that matter, did they ever fix the issues with the 2007's? I am not an owner yet but am considering a purchase but this
would be used in some pretty cold temps at times (-40 last year!) so don't want to plonk down the cash if they are still seeing issues.
Thanks much,
jlc

I have a an 07 Griz that i bought late in the year and I haven't had any problem with the gas boiling. I was told by my dealer that the only time they had problems with them not starting in the cold last year was an issue with the weight of oil used. I know a few ppl and they say if u use the Cold weather oil there isn't any problems. The one I know sits out side all winter long and never had a problem starting.

As far as I know, they didn't address any of those issues... They probably did swap out the reverse rev-limiter sensor with the new part# that they're selling... (the old one had a washer that was a hair too thick)

The boiling gas is a breathing issue...
The Cap doesn't vent, there's a check valve on the side of the gas tank for that. You can purchase a NAPA fuel filter and replace the check valve in the vent hose with the fuel filter.

gordie already answered the cold weather starting issue...

Could you expand on part number or installation of this Napa fuel filter to fix boiling gas or high pressure in tank?

The NAPA part # is 7-02357-1 (clear in line fuel filter)

Replace the checkvalve with this fuel filter and the breathing issue should go away.

It isn't a problem with high pressure in the gas tank, it is a problem with low pressure in the gas tank. Fuel is used up as the Grizzly runs along, but air cannot enter the tank to adequately replace the volume that is lost as the fuel is used up. This lowers the atmospheric pressure inside the gas tank, and gas boils at a lower temperature when it is at a lower pressure. If you lowered the pressure far enough gas would boil at room temperature.

I owe Hebs for this fix on one of our 2007 Grizzlys. The other 2007 Grizzly has not had a gas boiling issue.

Just an fyi... Yamaha has finally come out with a roll over valve that fixes this problem. I only know of 1 person so far that has it... but he said his "boil" problems have disappeared. I'm gonna ask my dealer about it tomorrow...

Can you find out a Yamaha part number for this roll over valve replacement part?

FYI guys mine is not sucking air, it's pressurized fuel. I say that because on mine it blew gas up out of the gas tank when I attempted to open cap with this hissing noise. Looked down to see fuel at a full roiling boil. Engine was turned off at the time, can't imagine what else would cause gas to boil with the engine off other than heat......
