I've never had gas boiling issue or cold start issues. But I can say last summer I had a 2 gallon can of gas in the back of the pickup for the lawn mower. Although the can was not sitting in direct sun light the gas was hot as the temp was around 105 in the shade. When I opened the can the gas boiled for a few seconds. After spending a few minutes on the internet I found out gas is made of several hydrocarbons that have boiling points as low as 90-120 degree F. So I can easily rationalize why people observe this issue. But of the thousands of 700 Grizzlys running around, has anyone ever had a fuel tank split or fail from the pressure? After all, every car I've owned for the last 15 years vents when opening the fuel tank as well and no one seems concerned about them.

I believe the part is called "Pipe joint assembly". part# is 3B4-24380-10-00. This supercedes the 3B4-24380-00-00.

Just to be clear here- only the carbureted 660's had the boiling gas problem right?

Geeesh...I wish Yamaha wouldn't have renamed everything "Grizzly".

No... both the 660s and the 700s have the issue. This part is ONLY for the 700s.
