Default 660R engine noise

okay so i have a 2003 raptor 660R. i changed my oil, and afterwards about 2 days later i started to get engine noise mostly when i rev. not hard just slightly reving. but now i notice it through the gears too and sometimes at idel. its this knocking/ clinging noise. im worried b/c im not good with bikes as far as problems. first i thought it was the gas so i filled it up with 93 octane, but now i think i might need a valve adjustment but idk.

Welcome to the forums sina518. Well there could be tons of different things causing those symptoms. If it started after the oil change I'd keep a close eye on the oil level on the dipstick and make sure its not over/under filled. I've heard that early 660's had serious tranny problems I'm not sure what years but pray its not that.

87 Octane is fine with that motor. I'd adjust the valves

did you check oil pressure after the change to make sure it got primed...

note...don't ever change your oil without running an engine first.....

Most common - valve adjustment needed. But it could be a million other things...
