I just bought a 07 wolverine and the winch mount plate only fits upside down on the top bumper mount and the winch hangs down it works but is this right thanks in advance for any help

 

what kind of winch??I looked into the Warn mount it mounts on the frame but real low..I don't like the looks of it..It would be burried most of the mud i'm in [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

Yhea everything that I have seen is on the bottom on the frame and looks like it would be buried in most of the mud or water.

I had the low mount and pulled it off. it was always affecting my approach angles and operated like a plow in the mud. I moved mine up where the oil cooler is supposed to be inside the brush guard, back in '98. Back then, there were no other mounting options. Here we are years later and now they sell a mount kit that does exactly what I did. I will look later today to see if I can find it online

 

i mounted mine on the top bar with the winch hanging below it, had to cut plastic out right in front of radiator to fit, not even noticable-its the lower section of the radiator guard, winch fits awesome and looks great, just clears under the radiator

 

I did mine just like Thumper10s did and it works very well.

 

Hey, I would love to add winch to my 07. Thumper, or yotatrailrunner, did you fabricate your own mount? Any pictures.

I got the winch mount with my winch off e-bay. It was the Venom brand.
