moto 4 carb help

Default moto 4 carb help

can some one tell me the factury settings for the a/f mixture screw and what notch the needle should be at for a 86 or 87 225 moto 4.
got one that im workin on and the prev. owner got the carb all screwed up.

thanx for any help

Pilot screw set at 1 1/2 turns out and Jet needle in position 3 which is the center position.

i was gonna put the needle in the middle and set it to 2 turns, but now i no were to start. thanx again

Good luck. Make sure you blow out every little jet, port and passage before you reassemble the carb. I just had a similar situation with a yfm200. I probably removed the carb a dozen times before I finally got it to run. Buy a Clymer manual. It's some of the best money you could spend. Happy motoring!!
