Pro Design Filter Setup for Raptor
#11
Maynard - are you certain you pushed the metal insert portion of your Pro Flow filter all the way inside the Balck Rubber sleeve that is connected to the outside of your filter that goes around the machined brackett? I took mine apart to see if I could see a portion that wasn't sealed properly and I realized that if the rubber portion isn't up over the metal insert cone screen that goes in your filter than you won't get the proper seal.

I think so. The advantage would be possibly not having to clean the main filters as much. Please tell me how to oil the outfilter lightly? I ask Tom's assistant if I could use a spray type oil on the outer filter and he said it would gum it up. I oiled the outer just like the main.

Absolutly positive. The problem with the design is that the flange is a LONG oval shape. The top and bottom portion is flat. The clamp puts most of it's pressure on the sides and very little on the top and bottom. I suppose it might do an OK job of sealing in some conditions, but I ride at Glamis and Dumont Dunes where the sand is VERY fine and can get into just about everywhere. The Pro Design does not do a good job in these conditions even with an Outerwear.
