Too big for an x-mas present. His expectations will be too high next year. He will probably be expecting a corvette or something.

Uh...I ain't getting him a warrior. We already have a riding lawn mower. No need for two. The Raptor 350 is different, right?

Not at all. They are basically the same quad, stock for stock the Raptor may do 1 mph more top end 2 if it's lucky. I don't know what warrior's you were riding, but Warrior's aren't bad quads, maybe you were riding old beaten up 87's, but my 2000 Warrior which is piped and jetted (plus just about everything in it/ on it is brand new from the previous owner who worked at a quad dealership) is fun and definately does not drive like a tractor. And I don't think you should be putting a 10 year old on a 350. Maybe on a 250 or 300 if he knows how to shift. What is he riding now?

I would say if he is mature for his age get the 350 if he is not really responsible then maybe the 250 although it doesnt have reverse.</end quote></div>

LOL! Good one!

Every parent thinks their kid is responsible and mature especially when the kid is NOT responsible or mature!

BTW, he's nuts putting a 10 year old on a Raptor 350. I hope he has good medical insurance.

when I was that age I rode a 250 and 350's as well as dirtbikes so i know that kids can get carried away, but I never hurt myself bad so i dont think that he would be nuts putting a kid on a raptor 350.

Well, he is really good at driving the John Deere. The yard looks really nice when he is done. So, he should be OK on the raptor 350 I think....

No, but really I am just kidding around. I think it was a 90's warrior that I test drove when I was shopping for a quad. Was not too impressed. It was all stock. That was probably 7 years ago.

Would a 300EX be more appropriate? Or is this about the same as Raptor 350? Our med insurance has high deductables. Maybe if Hilary gets elected and we have a national heath care system, the Raptor 350 will be OK? Thanks for thinking of that GrnXnham.

He has an Xtreme Typhoon 125 punched out to a 150. Its a step up from the LT80/Breeze/Viper90 class. Not by much. He is bored riding that. Doesn't even want to go.

Give me some ideas here. Really dont want to spend much over $2K. Thanks!

The 300EX sucks compared to the Raptor 350. You can forget about having any torque on the 300EX - even modded. 400EX is great but you definately don't want your son on that one any time soon.

Yeah, just vote for Hilary and you should be okay. Good thinking.

I am thinking you might want to go with the 250 Raptor then. Much lighter and better handling than the 350. It will be lacking a bit in top end by comparison, but this one should last him until he is big enough to handle a 400. The Raptor 250 is basically just like the old 230 Quadsport/250X/Mojave class reincarnated. Still plenty of adults riding those old war horses and loving it.
