Default Is the Raptor 350 a good quad?

I am thinking of getting a raptor 350 for my son. But if its just warrior with new clothes then I think I will pass. I don't know much about it. Please fill me in. Let me know if its a good quad for a 10 year old. Any suspension or geometry updates?

Thanks!

pretty much new clothes for the most part. But yes I believe it does have some upgraded suspension. and yhea it would proably be a good quad for a 10yr old either that or the raptor 250

it is based on the warrior and is at the same time not a crappy quad, especially for a 10 year old. There is a gigantic aftermarket for a warrior and they start out fun stock. Also plenty of room to grow each christmas as he gets bigger and better at riding. My buddy runs a highly modded warrior that screams...

Does is handle pretty good? I remember the old warrior driving like a tractor. Does the Raptor350 have easy steering and smooth operation? Is is stable in the turns. Front end not too heavy or light?

I looked at the new 250. It is very nice, but I think he'd grow out of it quick.

Anything you say will help me out. Thanks!

The Raptor 350 is a glorified Warrior. I would say it would be an excellent quad for younger riders. Maybe a lttle big for a 10 yr old but he could grow into it and wouldn't outgrow it until he was like 18 years old or so. Most 10 year olds I know have Raptor 80's and Breeze's. There are lots of adults who still ride Warriors and Raptor 350s, including myself and are great for moderate trail riding. The front end is a little heavy which is probably a good thing for a 10 yr old. In my opinion the Warriors don't handle like a tractor. All the suspension must have been worn out on the Warriors you are familiar with.

LOL GEZZZ im 26 and ride a RAPTOR 350 and weigh well over 200.lbs and it pulls me verry well does it pull as well as a 700R of course not but it handle's my weight real well as far as trail riding and climbing hill's an small jump's SMALL< lol but Id think it's too big for a 10 year old unless he's one of those really LARGE kid's But as for handling it handle's wayy better than a warrior and ride's better too I know this for a fact ive had a warrior and it's day light and dark diffrence.. between them.. id get him the 250 for now then work his way into a 350 that's a big diff between them some may think not but it is!!!but if money is tight i guess and you really wont be able to swap up in 3-4 year's get the 350...I love mine I can ride with the 400 crowd all day.

He is TALL for his age, weighs about 75 lbs. He looked like he'd grow out of the 250 in one season. He grew out of the last quad I bought him in one season. Maybe quads are like shoes and I just have to accept it. Thanks for the handling delta information. That is what I was looking for.

I would say if he is mature for his age get the 350 if he is not really responsible then maybe the 250 although it doesnt have reverse.

He will have blast on the 350 it Has enuff power to make ya smile but in stock form it's a lil sluggish out of the hole but this can be fixed by remove'ing the baffle it's hardly any louder but you do feel the gain then maybe get a dyno jet kit for 50 buck's and you will be suprised at the nice lil power gain I rode mine for half a year without jetting with no problem's...Is this a christmas present ? if so im sure he will be doing back flip's...Anyway's good riding to you and your son be safe...Jeremy......
