Wow that is a deal do you think it will pull what it's rated for? ive not known anyone to have one, that I know of anyway's I was scared to get the Gorilla but my unchle got me to order him one and I was real happy with it abilty. But for that price I might have to get a vipe for Grizzly the Gorilla is on my bruin....and another question do sink up the winch in watter because mine spend's 70% of it's time under watter..

The venom 2500 I had on the bruin worked fine, it was not 'waterproof' like this one states.
The only issue I ever had with it was the rocker switch would sometimes not go in or out, but I believe it was my fault on the wiring side. I can't say if it will pull that much, but the 2500 pulled me out of mud numerous times, my brothers honda 450 foreman BURIED in mud. (see pic in my photo page)
I also used it to operate my plow for two winters. For the price you can't go wrong.

If I didn't get the $69 promo winch from the dealer when I got my Grizz I would have definately bought another Venom.

Thanks for the info on the winch.... I've been looking at the gorilla winch, now I have another option.

When asking if they will pull their rated weight, you got to understand how they rate them. They go by how much the winch can pull up an incline on the first layer on the cable spool. The weight is a rolling weight on a degree incline like 20 degrees. So that is why you get a winch that can pull 4 times the vehicles weight. And at that it still won't winch the wheeler straight up a tree without a pulley block.

^ True I know the gorilla I have will pull out the bru in some really tacky mud and you can hook the winch to a limb or something sturdy enuff above you and it will pull it straight up off the ground with out even winding down seem's really strong I had a supper winch on before it was a 2500 pound as well and i know it would not <<<<< pull 2500 pound's if it had too crapper.. will not buy another SUPPER WINCH,,,

Looks like the Venom or Gorilla are affordable and work well. Perhaps down the line, we can pick up a 1500 lb. and put it on. Or get one with our next machine (If there is another special offer going on) which, for some reason, I'm afraid will become a reality....... you know how it goes.

Anything smaller than a 2500 winch isn't worth getting...

I've got an electric motor to lift my plow...its nice, but I think I'd rather have a winch for the summer time. Does anyones plow have a bar where they can manually turn the blades direction or do you have to get off and turn it? My lawn mower used to have a bar you could adjust the angle of the plow...that was nice.

Thanks, Hebs. I'd have gone on assuming that a 1500 would do the job.
